Halloween Competition Introduces a New Patient to The Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Studies, Pun Kin

After a busy week, the Institute team took a hiatus to compete in the UWMC’s annual Decorating and Pumpkin Carving Contest.  In a strong display of leadership, collaboration, and team building, the Institute put together the “Best Overall Production” in the creation of Pun Kin.

The project was led by Institute team members Austin Shipman, Monica Wacker, and Beth Sobba, whose competitive nature, strive for perfection, and out-of-the-box thinking culminated in what could be the first ever endoscopy of a pumpkin. The procedure confirmed physicians’ initial suspicions that Pun Kin had no guts, but it was the unexpected findings that defined Pun Kin’s namesake.   To see the full diagnosis, please follow the link below and watch the video.
