Dr. Brian K. Ross, Institute Executive Director, was presented with the Bruce C. Gilliland Award for Excellence in Teaching of Residents and Fellows at a Department of Anesthesiology grand rounds meeting this morning.

The Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Studies Hosts Annual Board Meeting

The Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Studies hosted its annual Executive Board meeting on October 29, 2012. Meeting attendees, which included representatives from UW Medicine Health System, were treated to an interactive presentation of the Institute's education and research. Board members worked side-by-side with student volunteers from the Schools of Medicine & Pharmacy, and Shoreline Community College Nursing Program (Northwest Hospital),  participating in a resuscitation event, capturing all details on the newly developed EventDocTM electronic recording device, and eventually following the “patient” to the operating room for an emergent cardiac procedure.


Surgeons Rehearse Exact Procedure At The Institute

Together Drs. Ferreira and Moe lead a team that has become one of a select few groups that perform highly complex surgeries using endoscopically, minimally disruptive techniques for the resection of skull base tumors.


Interprofessional Healthcare Student Training

Over 300 students from the UW Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and MEDEX (PA) Programs to participate together in team communication training.


New ISISTrak Launching Soon

The Institute for Simulation and Interprofessional Studies will unveil its new ISISTrak Database System in the Winter of 2012! The fully functioning database system captures important course event and evaluation information, allowing learners and instructors to track time and effort spent in simulation.
